The Client

Prasar Bharati is an autonomous statutory organisation and a Government Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. It operates India’s national public broadcasting services, including Doordarshan and All India Radio (AIR).

Prasar Bharati (abbreviated as PB) (transl. Indian Broadcasting Corporation) is India’s state-owned public broadcaster, headquartered in New Delhi, India. It is a statutory autonomous body set up by an Act of Parliament. It comprises Doordarshan, the television broadcaster, and All India Radio, the radio broadcaster, both of which were previously media units of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

Size & Reach

Radio (Akashvani): Operates 591 broadcasting stations, of which 230 have studio facilities, and over 500+ broadcasting centres with a network of 653 transmitters.
Television (Doordarshan): Operates 66 studio centers, over 34 satellite channels (including 28 regional channels), and has over 1,400 terrestrial transmitters.
Digital: Over 185 YouTube channels with a subscriber base exceeding 20 million (2 crore) and over 1 billion views as of 2021. The NewsOnAir app has a listenership exceeding 214 million.
TV Households: DD Free Dish reaches nearly 50 million to 6.5 crore (65 million) households.
Population Coverage: AIR covers 99.2% of the population, while Doordarshan has a potential reach of 90%.
Global Presence: DD India reaches over 190 countries.
